Size Matters in Stone

In India, we process granite in two main formats. Choosing the right one for your market is the difference between a 20% margin and a 40% margin.

1. Gangsaw Slabs (The Big Boys)

Size: Approx 120" x 70" (300cm x 180cm).
Processing: Cut by massive multi-blade machines.
Pros: Perfect for large islands with no seams. Pattern consistency is higher.
Cons: Expensive ocean freight (fewer slabs per container due to weight/height).

2. Cutter Slabs (The Budget Friendly)

Size: Approx 96" x 30" (240cm x 75cm).
Processing: Cut by vertical circular saws.
Pros: 30-40% cheaper per sqft. Ideal for pre-fab countertops and vanity rows.
Cons: Too narrow for large kitchen islands.

The Wholesaler's Strategy

We recommend a mix: 70% Gangsaw for high-end residential, and 30% Cutter for commercial/multifamily projects.
