The Great Countertop Debate
In 2025, the market is split. Should you buy Granite (100% natural, quarried from the earth) or Quartz (93% natural aggregate mixed with resin)?
1. Heat Resistance (The Hot Pot Test)
Granite Wins. Granite was born in fire (magma). You can take a hot pan off the stove and place it directly on a slab of Alaska White without damage.
Quartz Fails. The resin in Quartz will scorch (turn yellow/brown) if exposed to temperatures above 300°F. You must use a trivet.
2. Maintenance & Hygiene
Quartz Wins. Being man-made, Quartz is non-porous. It never needs sealing. It is the most hygienic surface for preparing raw meat.
Granite Needs Care. Granite is porous. You should seal lighter granites once a year to prevent wine or oil stains.
3. Aesthetics
If you want the consistent look of Italian marble without the fragility, our Calacatta Gold Ice Quartz is engineered to perfection. The veins go through the body of the slab, offering a realistic depth that printed tiles cannot match.
