A Starry Night in Your Kitchen
Mined exclusively in the Chimakurthi region of Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Black Galaxy Granite is a geological anomaly. Its deep black background is naturally speckled with gold and copper flakes (Bronzite crystals). It doesn't just look like stone; it looks like deep space.
Grading Black Galaxy: Don't Get Scammed
Not all Galaxy granite is equal. The price difference between "Premium" and "Commercial" can be 30%. Here is how Ruvello grades it:
- Premium Grade (Q1): The background is pitch black. The gold specks are small and evenly distributed. Zero visible lines or veins. This is what you put in a luxury hotel.
- Standard Grade (Q2): Excellent black background, but you might find a "Galaxy Line" (a natural dark vein) running through the slab. Great for large counters where cuts can hide the line.
- Commercial Grade (Q3): Visible white lines or large patches of bronzite. Used primarily for low-cost flooring projects.
Unlike dyed stones that fade, Black Galaxy is naturally black. It is incredibly dense and naturally moisture-resistant, often requiring no sealing at all.
